To say that I don't care what happens in the NBA would be an understatement, but despite that, I should probably make an attempt at keeping everyone up to date with the goings on of Mike and Kevin.
Now let's be honest, if you post either one of these guys up, you have a great chance of scoring. Gansey was a demon on the perimeter defense in the 1-3-1, but the NBA has more to do with man-to-man and isolation plays, which doesn't play to either of their strengths. Then again, there are a ton of guys in the NBA that don't play defense.
Anyhow, here are some links to some news items about Mike and Kevin. The most troubling item to me comes out in a couple of these articles. This from the Pittsburgh Tribune Review:
Tobin said at least one NBA team wanted to draft Pittsnogle in the second round and send him to Europe for a season, but the player nixed the idea.
"Kevin would rather go through free agency," Tobin said, adding that the 6-11 Pittsnogle would participate in two NBA summer leagues in July, including the Dallas Mavericks' league.
Why Kevin? I could understand family issues keeping him from doing this, but otherwise, since he played in an offense that is more European than American style, I would think he would really shine in Europe. Which could only push his stock up.
More on this as it becomes available.
