Don't sweat it. As long as you're to the west of the eye, it will stay minimal.Everyone to the east will get soaked and will probably need an Ark. Although with your elevation, flash floods are a possibility.
Not to mention the change in natural water flow that has been created by the coal companies Mountain Top Removal. You wouldn't believe all the towns that flood now, where before, they never had a major flood.
