St. Johns Not So Good

I was thinking that Mr. Hyde might show up in the game, but we got all Dr. Jeckyll. And what the hell is going on with the Beilein scale? West Virginia out rebounded the Red Storm by 8 and had 7 fewer turnovers than the pushovers on the way to a 73-46 victory. Darius Nichols stepped up his offensive game to lead all scorers with 20. Joe Alexander and Frank Young had 10 and 12 respectively. So someone different is playing the go-to-guy every time out. Which is refreshing, and hopefully keeps opposing defenses off guard.

The Mountaineers were 13-31 from three point range this afternoon, and 29-59 overall. Which is a far cry better than the unrealistic ratio of three-to-two point shots that they had in their victory over Villanova. Blast me if you want, but I am really starting to believe that this team can be just as good as last years team, depending on how you define greatness. Yes they haven't played near the competition as last years team, but they haven't been playing the sisters of the blind either. We'll get a feel for how this team does on the road next week as they have two road games against top 25 teams in Notre Dame and Marquette. So I guess that's something to look forward to for all the naysayers. I expect at least a split. Notre Dame got exposed against Georgetown, and barring any major rubbing of the shalalee, I expect a win in this game. Marquette might be another story, but then again, maybe not.

Ween needs no reason!
