Message Boards Are Nothing More Than Peep Shows

From the continuing story of the internet hoax involving Oklahoma quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Landry Jones comes this video, courtesy of Wizard of Odds.

Easy there partner! I think that leaded cough syrup is finally getting to you. While I don't regularly peruse the message boards, there was a time I did before this whole blogging thing took off and got me several hits a day. Taken in the right context, message boards are perfectly fine. It's about 90% bullshit and 10% truth. If you're stupid enough to fall for the 90%, then that's on you. Message boards are a way for folks that don't want to invest the time to start their own thing to get their voice out. Or to go to a place with like minded people. There are people that are just in it for their 15 minutes of fame. But there are also people there looking for the latest information. And at least these people are smart enough to look for a link to a reputable source before they start believing anything said. But that's just how things work in West Virginia. Oklahoma is apparently a different story, where bowl games and now message boards are the bane of their existence.
