Why Yes, My Right Arm is Longer Than My Left

Or suffice to say, I'm going to pat myself on the back for winning the Bowl Pick'em at In The Bleachers. Alligator Blood is the best description, because after the first week of bowls I was in the 25th place range. But somehow managed to work my way up to third place before last nights game, and was fortunate enough to be behind two people that thought Oklahoma was going to win that game. So cheers to me, and thanks to Brian for organizing the pick contest!

Thursday Coal Tattoo

Yea! Football season starts tonight! Cable gets hooked up tomorrow. Boo! That's how big a fan I am, I turn off the cable in the off season because I don't want to waste my time watching something that doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of living up to CFB. Just FYI.

-Three new weekly posts going up on FanHouse last night that should be fun to follow, Prop Bets For The College Football Junkie, Tailgate Central, and Pickin' On The Big Ten.

-Good news for the defense, Reed Williams will be starting at linebacker. Two sides to this coin. We need all the experience we can put out there on defense, I just hope he isn't rushing things. Because it is Villanova we're talking about here.

How The &*#@ Do You Get Sick Twice In August

Sick days are happening a lot around the Lair lately. You could say I haven't been taking care of myself, and you would be right. I was at least able to get out the vocals before the sickness hit yesterday. Yup, another songbook. This time a few select Big 12 coaches get the treatment. I am the tard, I forgot to tell Aaron over at CFB Weekly that I write here again. I know, it's hard to keep up with me with all my quitting here and writing over there and coming back here. It's like the bitch of a girlfriend that was also the best sex. You try to get away, but she always seems to find you at your weakest point and reels you in. As long as you're honest about it, I guess it's ok. Anyway, quite an impressive list of interviews for their season preview. Go listen!

It's a Podcast With In The Bleachers

I'll be on the In The Bleachers podcast tonight. The show starts at 9pm and you should be able to find a link to listen if you follow the link above. Why do I always feel like I'm typing these instructions out like I would to my parents? Is it because I don't want you to get lost or that I really want you to listen or both? Fear not though, because if you can't make it you can always go to the link in my sidebar to listen at a later time. Hmmm, do you feel comfortable with that? Great!

Anyhow, Denise is a huge fan of the show. And although she has never done a fully nude photo shoot, she promised us that would change if enough people listen. So don't do it because you want to hear what the experts think about the Big East this year. Do it for the limp dicks of this country that need that little something extra. You're service to your country will be greatly appreciated.

Thursday Coal Tattoo

The Coal Tattoo is a lazy attempt to post something through whiskey soaked eyes. It's not that we don't care. We just have other things to think about.


The big news of the day is that Big East Commissioner Mike Tranghese is going to retire in 2009. My first thought is hell yea!!! Just because he's the guy in charge. And when life isn't perfect, we hang the boss. Right? But the truth is that he's done an incredible job. Whether you like him or not, he's held this conference together when it was on the verge of collapse. Yeah, it didn't hurt that a certain team went on an apeshit crazy tear over the last three years in football. But still, he deserves our thanks. He's leaving the conference in the best shape it's ever been in. With the conference almost sure to split after 2010, there are still a lot of questions. A lot more than I want to bring up in a linking post, anyway.

If you last name is Rodriguez, you must leave Morgantown. I'm a lot of things, but woman beater isn't one of them, and I have no respect for anyone that does.

I rarely think about any other sports besides football or basketball, but freshman Jedd Gyorko has been named to the Louisville Slugger all freshman baseball team.

Might want to get your horse and carriage out of the barn, and get ready to pay more at the concession stand. Rising fuel costs are going to roll down hill at you from a lot of different directions. One of those directions will be from your favorite teams athletic department.

If you ever doubted that Orson was the greatest thing to hit the college football blogospher, shame on you. Here's another reason for your shame.
