Free Agents

Copied from MSN Sports.Net

Three West Virginia football players have signed free agent contracts as of Monday afternoon. Safety Mike Lorello has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, safety Jahmile Addae has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and cornerback Anthony Mims has signed with the San Diego Chargers.

Best chance for either of these three is to apply themselves as special teamers.

From College Football Resource:

A breakdown of the number of drafted players from each conference.

  • ACC: 51
  • Big Ten: 41
  • SEC: 37
  • Pac-10: 32
  • Big 12: 29
  • Mountain West: 12
  • Big East: 11
  • CUSA: 7
  • MAC: 6
  • WAC: 5
  • Independents: 3
  • Sun Belt: 0
  • Non D-IA: 21
It's shameful that the Big East only had 11 players drafted. One less than the Mountain West. Something tells me that that number will go up next year with Tyler Palko, H. B. Blades, Michael Bush, Dan Mozes, Brian Leonard, et al. For the sake of Big East recruiting, it needs to go up soon!
