Marshall News and Notes

Did I ever mention that I don't care for Chuck Landon? Consider it mentioned! But, you certainly can't blame the player on the guy doing the piece, so here are some notes on Kelvin Turner moving back to running back from corner back. Courtesy of...

The Chuck!

The experiment of Turner playing cornerback officially is over.

"I told our defensive coaches I would give them four days," Snyder said. "During staff meeting Monday, Jim Collins (defensive coordinator) said, 'Why don't you go ahead and take him back over there? You've already made up your mind."

So it would seem that Marshall should have a pretty decent 1-2 punch, or 1-2-3 punch if Chubb Small is in the mix.

In wide receiver news, someone said stop, but he just kept on running.

THE HERD expected fleet wide receiver Ridge Corbin to go long. But not all the way to Stone Mountain, Ga.

Corbin, who sat out last year at Marshall as an academic non-qualifier, is back home in Georgia due to "personal reasons," according to Snyder.

With each passing day of preseason camp here, it appears less and less likely that the highly regarded wideout ever will suit up for Marshall.

Ruuuuun!....No, Stooooop!

And lastly, Marshall and tOSU will squaw off in the 2010 season.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. Ohio State will open its 2010 football season in Columbus against West Virginia's bitch, Marshall University.

Ok, that was altered just slightly for your reading pleasure. "the" is getting pretty brave after the last time these two teams met in a 24-21 Buckeye victory on a last second field goal.
